Allow Me To Reintroduce Myself........

My name is Dr. Jovon Willis. I hold a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I work as an educational consultant for one of the largest investment firms in the country. I am also C.E.O. Of Higher Ground LLC, a non-profit aimed at assisting single mother college students with higher education degree obtainment.

I am a single mother of four children myself. My first child was born during my sophomore year of college and although I loved being a mom, doing it alone was very overwhelming. Education was my passion and the college campus was indeed my place of comfort. My love for the academy and my new found responsibility of parenthood made school a priority not only for my identity but for my livelihood.

Through impeccable time management, sweat, blood, and tears I was able to maintain a household while pursuing my undergraduate and graduate degrees. There were so many bumps in the road and sacrifices made, however, my resilience had given me such incredible wisdom. I am excited to share that wisdom with women who are in similar situations.

I have had so many life experiences that have shaped me into the woman that I am today. My love for romance and partnership is a driving force for me. However, as a single mom who works a full-time job and maintains a business, romance often has to be put on hold. In addition, finding a suitable partner can be a challenge in itself. Nevertheless, I am a helpless romantic and my quest for true love is just apart of who I am.

So through this blog, I hope that you join me through my continued journey. I hope to share my experiences so that I help other women navigate through their education, careers, love lives,

and families.
